DESCRIPTION: An upward curling leaf gall caused by a mite and best seen in early summer. The rolls are up to 45mm wide and can extend all around the leaf. The mites abandon the gall in late summer and spend several months in a dormant state in the buds or bark crevices. DISTRIBUTION: Occasional throughout but scarcer in the north. HABITAT: Found on the leaves of Elder.
